To enable students to submit assignments in response:
From the control panel, select "digital dropbox"
actually, this isn't right. Also tried tests, surveys, and conferences.
Students will select "Tools" to submit assignments via the digital dropbox

Students can create a home page for other students within the system.
I can create "groups" and give "tasks" to those groups.
My questions
Can I make a specific discussion board available directly from the menu? I don't see how, but it would be nice to do so. See below.
Can I look at this from the perspective of a student without being a student? Not directly. But you can register another professor in your class and look over their shoulder.
What is "observer" status all about? Can I provide access to other people? Are there implications to disabling observer access to things? Doesn't work.
What are the implications of removing tools: Not the kind I'm worried about.
