- Announcement
- Students are encouraged to attend Wednesday's ARTSwego performance by my friend Jacqueline Horner, an amazing soprano who will be performing secular pieces of the Baroque Period by Bach, Purcell, Scarlotti, Pergolesi, Blow and Monteverdi. Ms. Horner is a member of the well known ensemble "Anonymous Four". Performance is at 7:30pm at the Sheldon Hall Ballroom. Student tickets are $5.00.
- Reminder
- No class on Thursday. Use the time to get started on your term paper presentation
- Note
- Your term paper presentations start next Thursday
Term paper expectations
- The term paper should explore the differences between the culture that you live in ("this" or "our" culture) and the culture of your text. You are allowed (indeed, expected, but not required) to use the content of your two short papers in doing this, but to both apply your readings from the course and find additional references in doing so.
- Your paper must be at least ten pages (of text, not references) long (it can be longer) for the possibility of an A. Papers that are 6 to 9 pages long have a maximum grade of a B.
- I expect each paper to have at least 10 references (you can have more), with a minimum of 5 drawn from the principle readings of the course and five (including your text) drawn from other sources.
- Index card assignment due Tuesday
- Describe the approach you intend to take to your term paper (e.g. thesis, slant, angle, etc).
